Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information AscendOS collects, how we use it, and how we protect it. We're a small company — Ascendapp LLC, based in Utah — and we handle your data with the same care we'd want applied to our own.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly when you use AscendOS:

• Account information: Your name and email address when you sign up.
• Onboarding responses: Your challenge, vision, and growth barriers — used to personalize your coaching experience.
• Coaching conversations: The messages you exchange with your AI coach.
• Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full card number — Stripe handles all payment data.

We may also collect basic usage data (pages visited, session duration) to understand how the product is used and improve it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Deliver your personalized AI coaching experience
• Remember your context across coaching sessions
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Send important product updates or account notifications
• Improve AscendOS based on how it's being used

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon. Connections use TLS encryption in transit. We implement industry-standard access controls and do not grant unnecessary access to your personal data.

4. Payments (Stripe)

All subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe to AscendOS Pro, you'll interact with Stripe's secure checkout. We receive confirmation of your payment status but never your full card details.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use a small set of analytics tools (including Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors find and use the site. This helps us improve the product and reach more people who could benefit from it.

We use localStorage to persist your session after login. No tracking cookies are placed without your browsing activity already being on our site.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & Privacy)

If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Regardless of where you live, we honor these principles:

• Access: You can request a copy of your data at any time.
• Correction: You can update your account information.
• Deletion: You can request your account and data be deleted. Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
• Portability: You can request your coaching conversation history.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account and coaching data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, non-identifiable usage data may be retained longer for product improvement purposes.

8. Third-Party Services

AscendOS uses the following third-party services:

• Stripe — Payment processing
• OpenAI — AI coaching responses (your messages are processed by their API)
• Meta Pixel — Ad performance analytics
• Neon — Database hosting
• Render — Application hosting

We do not sell your data to any of these services. We share only the minimum necessary data for each service to function.

9. Children

AscendOS is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as AscendOS evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or via an in-app notice. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
